We close out our first ever Spooky Season with a trip to Laurel's House of Horror, advertised as Maryland's largest indoor haunted house. Built inside of an abandoned movie theatre, we have high hopes for immersive thrills with a cinematic flare - but can they deliver?
There's no better person to journey into mystery with than Collected Possibilities Co-Founder, Horror aficionado, and returning guest David Pratt! We do a thorough analysis of the tropes & mechanics of a Haunted Attraction and brainstorm ideas on how to elevate the format for future years. We compare the differences between horror and suspense on a genre level, dial in on David's fear of losing control, and pitch a Haunted Bar-Mitzvah as a very niche new attraction. David hates Zombies, Jason REALLY hates line dancing, and we compare the cathartic experience of horror to the rhythmic patterns of orgasms.
